The Differences Are...
Is this a scam? It sounds like a MLM? My question is...what do you know about MLMs? Are you thinking about Amway/Quixtar? This company is far from Amway/Quixtar. But, I think there is ALOT of confusion about the "Non-Retail" Marketing Industry.
Direct Selling is the sale of a consumer product or service, person-to-person, away from a fixed retail location. The product or services are marketed by independent salespeople. Salespeople may be called distributors, representatives or consultants. Products are sold primarily through in-home product demonstration parties, and one-on-one selling. Ex. AVON or Tupperware
Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) aka Network Marketing is where the parent MLM allows distributors to market their opportunity directly by means of relationship referral or by direct selling. Independent representatives are rewarded a commission relative to the volume secured through their independent business. Distributors build their business by (1) building an active customer base, who buy directly from the parent company or (2) by recruiting a downline of distributors, who also build customer bases expanding the overall organization. Additionally, distributors can earn a profit by retailing products purchased at wholesale prices. The distributors earn commission based upon sales efforts of their organization as well as the efforts of their downline. Commission is based upon the company's compensation plan.
Referral Marketing is a structured & systematic method to advertising that maximizes the "word of mouth" potential. Referral Marketing generates opportunity by encouraging, informing, promoting & rewarding customers/contacts to think & talk about the supplier, the company, the products/services and the value/benefits the supplier can bring.
My business venture is a MLM - WITHOUT - all of the MLM characteristics. We ARE NOT in the business of direct selling. We ARE in the business of the customers buying directly from the parent MLM company, who sources & manufactures their own products. We ARE NOT in the business of earning a profit by retailing products purchased at wholesale prices. We DO have in-home presentations, but unlike direct sellers, i.e. AVON or Tupperware, we DO NOT have inventory on hand that we are trying to sell. We DO NOT have a large investment fee. We DO NOT have billing & collections. We DO NOT carry large inventory. Lastly, there is NO PRESSURE. How many other MLM opportunities can say that?
We are unique. We are effective. We have a viable compensation plan. We have exceptional training. We have low investment cost. We are trending towards $1 Billion in sales!
It's time to ignite PLAN B! We are in a recession. Gas, nationwide, is $4.00/gallon. In June 2008, 62,000 jobs were eliminated. The unemployment rate is at 5.5%. The average person is looking to create their PLAN B! There's no better time than NOW...Are you prepared?
